The next election to be held is the June 5, 2018 Primary.
The purpose of the primary election is for the members of each political party to nominate candidates for the November general election.
Iowa has a “closed” primary in which voters can vote only in one party’s primary election and only if they are willing to declare themselves as members of that party.
Absentee voting is now available. You can vote in the Auditor's Office during normal business hours or request a ballot to be mailed to you by using an Absentee Ballot Request form. You can find this form and other information on the Iowa Secretary of State website at https://sos.iowa.gov. You may also call the Auditor's Office at 515/332-1571.
