Board of Supervisor’s Room
November 20, 2017
The Board of Supervisors of Humboldt County, Iowa met at 8:30 a.m. on the 20th day of November 2017 with the following members present: Reimers, Mattes, Lee, Underberg and Pedersen. Absent: None.
The Chairman called the meeting to order.
Moved by Lee and seconded by Reimers to approve the amended agenda for the November 20, 2017 Board meeting. All voting aye.
Moved by Lee and seconded by Mattes to approve the minutes for the November 9, 2017, November 13, 2017 and November 15, 2017 Board meetings. All voting aye.
Chairman Pedersen opened the meeting up for public concerns. Clint Hartman was present to discuss not receiving notice of the partial open ditch cleanout started in Wacousta Township, Section 25. Hartman wanted to state on record that notice needs to be given to all landowners that there is work going to be done. No official Board action was taken.
Michelle De La Riva, Executive Director for Community & Family Resources was present to request funding for a new facility. No official Board action was taken.
Moved by Mattes and seconded by Lee to approve a Class B Native Wine Permit with Outdoor Service and Sunday Sales for River Valley Orchards and Winery. All voting aye.
Moved by Underberg and seconded by Lee to recess as the Board of Supervisors and convene as the Board of Trustees for DD# 125. All voting aye.
Moved by Lee and seconded by Mattes to adjourn as the Board of Trustees for Drainage and reconvene as the Board of Supervisors. All voting aye.
Moved by Underberg and seconded by Lee to deny the application for the proposed Texas Finisher Farm in Norway Township, Section 7 based on inaccuracies in scoring and a deduction of 50 points of the Master Matrix, therefore failing to meet the criteria required. All voting aye.
Moved by Underberg and seconded by Mattes to table a right of way permit request by Roger Myers for a road tile crossing until he can provide a written agreement between himself and a landowner downstream of the proposed tile project. All voting aye.
Moved by Lee and seconded by Underberg to approve a right of way permit request from MidAmerican Energy to install a 35’ pole on the south side of C26/East King Street, 39’ from the centerline contingent on City of Bradgate’s approval. All voting aye.
