Board of Supervisor’s Room
April 2, 2018
The Board of Supervisors of Humboldt County, Iowa met at 8:30 a.m. on the 2nd day of April 2018 with the following members present: Mattes, Lee, Underberg, Pedersen and Reimers. Absent: None.
The Chairman called the meeting to order.
Moved by Lee and seconded by Pedersen to approve the amended agenda for the April 2, 2018 Board meeting. All voting aye.
Moved by Underberg and seconded by Mattes to approve the minutes for the March 26, 2018 Board meeting. All voting aye.
Chairman Reimers opened the meeting up for public concerns. No one was present to speak so the Board continued with their regular meeting.
Todd Lee, Humboldt County Conservation Director and Travis Goedken, Humboldt City Administrator, were present to discuss applying for a TAP grant. Moved by Pedersen and seconded by Underberg to approve applying for a TAP (Transportation Alternative Program) for a trail to link the Eagle Ridge Park Trail to the Cottonwood Trail in Humboldt County. All voting aye.
Moved by Mattes and seconded by Lee to approve the Humboldt County FY2019 Iowa Department of Transportation Secondary Road Budget. All voting aye.
Moved by Pedersen and seconded by Underberg to approve contracts and bonds to PCI (Peterson Contractors, Inc.) for Project #BRS-CO46(70)--60-46. All voting aye.
Moved by Mattes and seconded by Lee to approve construction on county right-of-way from Roger Myers for an agricultural tile crossing and approve a $1,500 reimbursement from the county on that project. All located ¼ mile north on Juniper Ave. north of Highway 3. All voting aye.
Moved by Pedersen and seconded by Mattes to approve Pro Coop as the Humboldt County Dust Control contractor for 2018 at $1.15/ft. All voting aye.
Moved by Pedersen and seconded by Lee to approve a quote from Vogel Traffic Services for 2018 pavement marking (centerline/edgeline markings) at $13.70/gallon. All voting aye.
Moved by Pedersen and seconded by Lee to authorize the Chairman to sign a Lease Agreement Contract with Denise Johnson for Animal Control Facilities, after some corrections have been made. All voting aye.
Moved by Mattes and seconded by Underberg to accept and place on file the General Assistance 1st quarter report ending September 30, 2017 and the 2nd quarter report ending December 31, 2017 for FY 2018. All voting aye.
Moved by Lee and seconded by Pedersen to authorize the Chairman to sign health insurance documents for the Iowa Governmental Health Care Plan and Wellmark BC/BS. All voting aye.
Moved by Lee and seconded by Underberg to sign a Letter of Agreement with the Humboldt County Secondary Road Union and AFSCME for the implementation of 10-hour days for Secondary Road personnel. All voting aye.
